A Proud Legacy Since 1927
The 20th Fighter Wing has a proud history dating back to 1927, when the 20th Balloon Group was authorized. In 1929, it was redesignated the 20th Pursuit Group and has continued, almost without interruption, as a fighter organization.
The 20th Fighter Wing Association began in the early 1960s as a reunion group and was incorporated in 1993. Its purpose is to preserve the military history and esprit de corps of past and present members of the 20th Fighter Wing and the organizations that came before and after it, while continuing the tradition of bringing members together through biennial reunions.

President's Corner
Welcome to the 20th Fighter Wing Association Website! We are a 501C non-profit Association formed to serve 20th Alumni, current members of the 20th Fighter Wing at Shaw AFB, family and friends of the 20th. We are a volunteer organization managed by a Board of Directors elected for four-year terms.
As an Association we provide annually three awards to active-duty members of the 20th who are nominated by their commanders in Aerial Achievement, Force Multiplier, and Base Support Enhancement Awards. We publish member rosters and host reunions every two years and publish quarterly newsletters. We are the 20th FWA!
