We have had a successful year with our Awards Programs. Our President, Gino Passaro and Ellis Shardin traveled to Shaw AFB and presented The Aerial Achievement Award, the Force Multiplier Award and the Base Support Enhancement Award, along with trophies and cash to the winners.
The 20th Wing Commander was present and showed a lot of support for the association’s continued involvement with the 20th Fighter Wing. Also the association, for the second year, sponsored two teams to play in the annual Base Charity Golf Tournament. Our 20th Fighter Wing Association banner was proudly displayed on the course. Welcome to 20th Fighter Wing Association
The 20th Fighter Wing has a proud history that began in 1927 with the authorization of the 20th Balloon Group. In 1929 it was redesignated the 20th Pursuit Group and has since existed almost continuously as a fighter unit. The 20th Fighter Wing Association began in the early sixties as a reunion group and was incorporated in 1993. The purpose of the Association is to preserve the military history and esprit de corps of past and present members of the 20th Fighter Wing and all previous and subsequent military iterations of that organization. A specific purpose is to conduct biennial reunions to enable continued social congress between its members.
